My first sonnet

My dear doggie, you are so brave and true,
Your look, your gaze, Oh that a dog could speak.
I could write seventeen sonnets 'bout you,
Thou it may take a bit more than a week.

People ask "what breed of dog have you there?"
My reply, "An American Cutie".
"That's the kind I want!! It is fairly rare."
As you back in a bush, to your duty.

Oft times I profess that human you are,
On four legs, dressed in your furry disguise,
You chase your tail or roll in manure;
You are very smart, but alas not wise.

You are wearing an animal mantel;
You know our language and words, but can't spell.
